Taking Action: Swingtown,Hallmark,Honda, & U.S. Senate

Contact Burlington Coat Factory

CBS' Swingtown continues to trash the public airwaves with moral sewage. Last Friday night's episode (August 15) included:

-A teacher/student bedroom scene
-A man snorting cocain off a woman's stomach
-Qualudes being passed around like candyYoung teens playing strip poker
-4-way s** scene

Sadly, Burlington has a long reputation of being a "distressed merchandise" advertiser, meaning they buy ads for pennies on the dollar with shows that can't get reputable advertisers.

TAKE ACTION:Contact Burlington Coat Factory today! They were recently bought by Bain Capital. Hopefully, the new owners will have conscience and withdraw their ad support from CBS' Swingtown.

Note: Don't delete this email! It is possible that Burlington will reject your letter. If so, you may wish to call them directly. Their corporate number is 888-223-2628.

Sincerely,

Hallmark pushes same-sex marriage

Hallmark Greeting Cards has announced it will begin selling same-sex wedding cards, even though same-sex marriage is legal in only two states. The purpose, they say, is to satisfy consumer demand. It appears that their purpose is also to push same-sex marriage. Last year Hallmark began offering "coming out" cards - as in "coming out of the closet" -- a euphemism for announcing homosexuality.

We've all given or received Hallmark Cards – remember their slogan – "when you care enough to send the very best." But promoting same-sex marriage for profit is not the very best for families or our nation. Hallmark is a private company obviously driven by greed. Let them know you do not appreciate Hallmark promoting a lifestyle which is illegal in 48 states. American Greeting Cards, Hallmark's competitor, does not offer same-sex marriage cards.

After sending your email, call Hallmark's corporate office. Their number is 816-274-5111.

Gay rights trump religious freedom
Honda of Alabama takes logical and reasonable position.

The California Supreme Court, which recently legalized same-sex marriage, has ruled by a 7-0 vote that homosexual rights trump religious freedom. The ruling barred doctors, because of their Christian beliefs, from withholding unnecessary medical care to gays and lesbians. The ruling says that under state law sexual orientation rights trump religious freedom.

Justice Joyce Kennard wrote in the ruling that two Christian fertility doctors who refused to artificially inseminate a lesbian have neither a free speech right nor a religious exemption from the state's law, which "imposes on business establishments certain antidiscrimination obligations."

Doctors at the Christian clinic referred the lesbian to another clinic, but the lesbian refused their referral - demanding that the Christian clinic perform the procedure. When the Christian doctors refused to violate their religious convictions, the lesbian sued and the Supreme Court gave her the victory.

This ruling will affect every business in California. If a similar victory in a federal court is won, every business in America will be affected.

For example: Alabama Fertility Specialists (AFS) has begun a campaign to bring Honda of Alabama to its knees because Honda will not cover artificial insemination for a lesbian in it’s insurance.

Honda advised their insurance carrier to "exclude domestic partners (same-sex partners) from ART (Assisted Reproductive Technology) benefits including diagnostic services related to fertility/infertility..." If this doesn't work, then count on AFS to sue.

Alabama Fertility Specialists alerted the media, their supporters and gay groups about Honda’s actions and called on supporters and gays to bombard Honda with phone calls and letters.

Make a phone call thanking Honda. The number is 205-355-8000 .

Indecency legislation stalled in U.S. SenateUrgent: call your senators to urge Sen. Reid to schedule a vote for S. 1780

Did you know that the four major television networks have declared war on decency by suing the FCC for the right to air profanity and nudity at any time of day? We do have a counter attack but the Protecting Children from Indecent Programming Act (S. 1780) is currently stalled in the U.S. Senate. The Act (S. 1780) would reaffirm Congress' support for vigorous enforcement of the existing broadcast decency laws and the importance of protecting the public airwaves from indecent content.

In order to ensure the Federal Communications Commission's (FCC) ability to fine broadcasters over "fleeting" instances of profanity or nudity, S. 1780 needs to be voted on by the full Senate. If S. 1780 does not pass, the Broadcast Decency Enforcement Act passed two years ago will be rendered essentially meaningless.

Recently, the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Philadelphia threw out a $550,000 indecency fine levied against CBS for the infamous 2004 Super Bowl "wardrobe malfunction." CBS also allowed profanity during Big Brother 10, which airs during prime time.

We are in a pivotal time regarding the ownership of America's broadcast airwaves. The law says these airwaves belong to the American people, but the networks are trying to take them over and turn them into a toxic sewer. Now is the time to fight back!
